Helpful Tips For Cooking
- Adjust the heat by adding more or less chili powder or hot sauce.
- Stir frequently to prevent the sauce from sticking to the pan.
Directions
Stir together all the ingredients—ketchup, lemon juice, water, brown sugar, garlic powder, olive oil, paprika, chili powder, honey, salt, dry mustard, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and hot sauce—in a large saucepan. Place the pan over medium heat and let everything cook gently. Stir the sauce now and then to keep it from sticking and to help the flavors blend. After about 45 minutes to an hour, the sauce should be nice and smooth, with a thicker consistency. Once it’s reached that point, take it off the heat and let it cool a bit before using. This sauce is great on just about anything you want to add a little kick to!
