Why This Recipe Is A Favorite
Smart Cooking Tips
- Use a high smoke point oil like avocado or canola for extra crispiness.
- Avoid overcrowding the pan or baking sheet to help the slices become crispy.
Directions
Gently heat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a small bowl, mix together chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, cornstarch, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Cut the sweet potatoes in half lengthwise, then slice each half into three wedges. Put them in a large bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and toss everything around to make sure the wedges are well coated. Sprinkle the spice mix over the potatoes and stir again, using a spatula or your hands, until every piece is nicely covered. Spread the wedges out on the baking sheet in a single layer. Pop them in the oven and bake for about 25 minutes, or until you can easily pierce the thickest part with a fork.
