Simple Cooking Tips
- Avoid overmixing the ingredients to keep the patties tender.
- Let the patties rest a few minutes after baking to lock in the juices.
Step 1
Position one oven rack in the middle and another about 6 inches from the broiler. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and give it a light spray of cooking spray to keep things from sticking.
Step 2
In a bowl, mix together the ground pork, maple syrup, garlic, parsley, marjoram, salt, pepper, thyme, and paprika. Stir gently until everything is combined, then divide the mixture into six even portions. Shape each portion into a patty and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Press down lightly with your hand to flatten them a bit.
Step 3
Pop the baking sheet onto the middle rack and bake the patties for about 8 minutes. While that’s happening, turn on your broiler to low.
Step 4
After baking, move the patties up to the top rack and broil until they develop a nice golden brown color, which should take around 5 minutes. Just to be safe, check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer—it should read at least 165°F (74°C). Once they’re done, let them rest for a minute or two and then enjoy!
