Tips For Better Flavor
- Heat the oil well before frying to get a crispy crust without absorbing too much oil.
- Press the sesame seeds gently onto the cheese to help them stick better.
Step 1
Cut the feta into squares or rectangles about half an inch thick. Crack a couple of eggs into a bowl that’s wide enough to dip the feta pieces in, and give them a quick whisk with a fork. Spread some flour out on one plate, and sesame seeds on another. Now, coat each piece of feta first in the flour, then dip it into the egg, and finally press it into the sesame seeds so it’s fully covered on all sides.
Step 2
Heat a good splash of olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat – you want enough to shallow fry. Carefully add the coated feta pieces in batches if needed, and cook them until they’re golden on one side, about 5 minutes. Flip them over and cook for another 5 minutes or so until the other side is golden too. Let the fried feta drain on some paper towels to soak up any extra oil. Finish by drizzling a little honey over the top and serve while it’s warm.
