Why This Dish Is Hard To Resist
Helpful Kitchen Tips
- Use toothpicks to secure the bacon if it tends to unravel during cooking.
- Cook on medium heat to avoid burning the bacon before the cheese melts.
Directions
Heat your grill to medium-high and give the grate a light brush of oil to keep things from sticking. Next, cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it’s nice and crispy, then drain it on some paper towels. While the bacon cooks, place the hot dogs on the grill and cook them for about 5 to 8 minutes, turning once so they brown evenly and reach your preferred level of doneness. Don’t forget to toast the buns on the grill for a minute or two until they’re lightly browned. When everything’s ready, build your sandwiches by layering a slice of cheese and some crispy bacon inside each bun, then add the hot dog on top. Finish things off with a spoonful of barbecue sauce and a few slices of red onion for a perfect bite.
