Why This Recipe Is So Loved
Tips For Better Flavor
- Use sweet or smoked paprika depending on your taste preference.
- Avoid overcooking the noodles to keep them tender but firm.
Directions
Gently heat some oil in a large pot over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the steak and cook it, stirring occasionally, until it’s nicely browned all over—this should take about 5 minutes. Next, pour in the water, ketchup, chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, paprika, mustard, garlic, salt, and pepper. Give everything a good stir to combine, then bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, lower the heat and let it simmer gently. You’ll want to cook it for 2 to 3 hours until the beef is really tender and the sauce has thickened up nicely. While the beef is cooking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the egg noodles in the boiling water for about 5 minutes, or until they’re tender but still have a little bite. Drain the noodles well, then serve the beef mixture spooned over the top. Enjoy!
