Why This Dish Is So Special
Helpful Tips For Cooking
- Use the sauté function to cook the vegetables and spices first for deeper flavor.
- Allow natural pressure release for about 15 minutes to keep the beans tender without overcooking.
Step 1
Turn on your Instant Pot and selecting the sauté setting. Once it’s hot, add a little oil and toss in your frozen veggies and garlic. Cook them until they’re nice and soft, about 5 minutes. Then, add the beans along with the water and bay leaves. Switch off the sauté mode, close the lid, and lock it in place.
Step 2
Set the Instant Pot to high pressure and cook for 40 minutes. It’ll take about 10 to 15 minutes to build up the pressure before the timer starts. When the cooking time is up, let the pressure release naturally for at least 20 minutes before opening the lid.
Step 3
Finally, stir in some liquid smoke, salt, and pepper to taste. Give the beans a gentle mash if you like them a bit creamier, then serve and enjoy!
