Why This Recipe Stands Out
Cooking Tips You Should Know
- Toast the bread slices until golden but not burnt to keep a nice texture.
- Sprinkle sea salt lightly to avoid overpowering the chocolate’s sweetness.
Directions
Preheat your oven’s broiler and moving the rack so it’s about 6 inches from the heat. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat to keep things from sticking. Arrange the baguette slices in a single layer on the sheet, then pop them under the broiler. Keep an eye on them—they should take about 2 minutes to get golden. Flip the slices over and broil for another 2 minutes until both sides are nicely toasted. Once that’s done, turn off the broiler for a moment. Flip the slices again, give each one a little drizzle of olive oil, and press a piece of chocolate into the center of each slice. Slide the baking sheet back into the oven for another 2 minutes so the chocolate starts to melt. When you take them out, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the melted chocolate to finish.
