What Makes This Recipe So Great
Helpful Chef Tips
- Keep an eye on the shrimp as they cook quickly and can become rubbery if overdone.
- Adjust the spice level to your taste by adding more or less chili powder or cayenne.
Step 1
Heat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat, cook the bacon until it’s nicely browned, which should take about 10 minutes. Once it’s done, transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain and save the bacon grease in the skillet. When the bacon is cool enough to handle, chop it into small pieces.
Step 2
Add the butter to the bacon grease and melt it over medium heat. Toss in the diced bacon along with the Dijon mustard, chili powder, red pepper flakes, basil, thyme, chopped onion, and garlic. Cook everything together, stirring occasionally, until the onion softens, about 5 minutes.
Step 3
Pour in the wine and sprinkle in the seafood seasoning, then add the shrimp. Give it all a good toss so the shrimp get coated in the flavorful mix. Transfer this mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Step 4
Pop the dish in the oven and bake for around 20 minutes. You’ll know it’s ready when the shrimp turn bright pink and are no longer see-through in the middle. Enjoy!
