Why This Recipe Is A Must Try
Kitchen Tips
- Season generously with salt and pepper to enhance the natural flavors.
- Use a hot pan or grill to get a nice sear and lock in juices.
Step 1
Stir the onions, mushrooms, olive oil, vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and pepper in a medium bowl. Put the steaks into a large zip-top bag and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag and pop it in the fridge for at least 8 hours, or overnight if you can.
Step 2
When you’re ready to cook, move an oven rack so it’s about 6 inches from the broiler and preheat the broiler. Line a baking sheet with foil and lay the steaks on top.
Step 3
Broil the steaks for about 8 minutes per side, or until they’re hot and still a little pink in the middle. While the steaks are cooking, pour the onions, mushrooms, and leftover marinade into a small saucepan. Let it simmer gently over medium-low heat until the steaks are done.
Step 4
Serve the steaks topped with the warm mushroom and onion sauce. Enjoy!
