Ingredients
- 3 pounds beef tongue
- 1 cup teriyaki sauce
- 1 (20 ounce) can pineapple rings, drained
Why This Dish Is So Satisfying
Kitchen Tips
- Use fresh pineapple for the best flavor and natural sweetness.
- Baste the tongue with the teriyaki sauce several times during cooking to build a deep glaze.
Step 1
Place the beef tongue in a large pot and covering it with water. Bring it to a boil over medium heat, then let it simmer for about two hours. Once it’s done, turn off the heat and let the tongue cool in the pot for another hour. After it’s cool enough to handle, peel off the skin and throw it away.
Step 2
Move the tongue to a cutting board and slice it into pieces about half an inch thick. Brush both sides of the slices with teriyaki sauce to get them nice and flavorful.
Step 3
Heat up your grill to medium and give the grates a quick brush with oil to keep things from sticking. Grill the pineapple and tongue slices for about six minutes, flipping them halfway through so they cook evenly and get a nice char. Once everything is grilled to your liking, serve and enjoy!
