Why This Dish Is A Crowd Favorite
Cooking Secrets
- Drain the tuna thoroughly to avoid a watery mixture.
- Add the cheese on top just before toasting to get a nice, melted finish.
Step 1
Move your oven rack to about 6 inches from the top and turn on the broiler to preheat. Lay the bread slices out on a baking sheet in a single layer. Pop them under the broiler for about a minute on each side, just until they’re lightly toasted.
Step 2
While the bread is toasting, mix together the tuna, mayo, lemon juice and zest, and dill in a bowl until everything is well combined. Spread this mixture evenly over the toasted bread. Then, add a few tomato slices on top and finish with a generous layer of Swiss cheese.
Step 3
Put the baking sheet back under the broiler and watch closely as the cheese melts and bubbles, which should take about 3 to 5 minutes. Once it looks gooey and slightly golden, take them out and enjoy!
